- How do I enable the Digital Life Action on The Google Assistant
- On a computer, open the Google Assistant https://assistant.google.com/
- In the Top Menu, tap What it can do
- Then tap, Explore All Actions
- Search for the Digital Life action's name by typing "Digital Life"
- Select the Digital Life action
- Tap Link
- When prompted to log in into Digital Life, enter your user name/password
- Note: If you change your Digital Life user name or password, you will need to unlink/relink the AT&T Digital Life Actions for Google Assistant.
- What can I do with the Google Assistant AT&T Digital Life actions?
- With the AT&T Digital Life actions, you can enjoy the convenience and security of home automation while getting the most out of your AT&T Digital Life system. For example, you can say commands such as:
- Reminder: To start a session start with "Hey Google, talk to Digital Life" and proceed with whichever AT&T Digital Life device that you want to control using the verbiage of the devices name.
- Below are some examples:
- Turn on/off lights and smart plugs:
- "Turn on the porch light."
- "Turn off the porch light."
- "Switch on the Bedroom Light"
- "Switch off the Bedroom Light"
- "Is my Bedroom Light on"
- "Is my Bedroom Light off"
- Dim lights:
- "Dim the Living Room light"
- "Brighten the Living Room"
- Close garage doors and lock doors (IMPORTANT: opening of garage doors, and unlocking doors is restricted by design to ensure your safety and security):
- "Close my Garage Door"
- "Lock my Front Door"
- "Lock the Front Door"
- "Is my Front Door Locked"
- "Is my Front Door Unlocked"
- Arming System (disarming is disabled by design to ensure your safety and security):
- "Arm my system to stay."
- "Arm the system instant."
- "Arm the system away."
- List my devices:
- "List all my devices"
- Because your security is very important to us, the Google Assistant-enabled devices are NOT able to disarm the AT&T Digital Life system, unlock doors, or open garage doors. You must use the AT&T Digital Life app for those tasks. The Google Assistant-enabled devices also cannot control AT&T Digital Life cameras.
- *Please note that the device name must match what is in the AT&T Digital Life portal or The Google Assistant will not be able to understand the command.

- How do I change the names of my AT&T Digital Life devices?
- Follow the instructions below to change the name of a AT&T Digital Life device. You can change device names in the AT&T Digital Life App.
- From a PC:
- Click Devices
- Find the device you want to rename
- Click the settings icon in the bottom right corner of the device tile
- Enter a new name and click Enter
- From a Mobile Device:
- Open the home screen select Devices from the bottom navigation
- Find the device you want to rename
- You can use Sort by and choose between Room or Device Type filter, or use All Rooms for a complete list of your devices.
- Select the arrow to the right of the device name you want to change and open the menu
- Select Edit device settings
- Tap on the box labeled Name and enter a new name
- Tap on Save in the top right corner
- Open the home screen select Devices from the bottom navigation
- From a PC:
- Once you have completed these steps, The Google Assistant device will recognize the new name that you have assigned to your AT&T Digital Life device(s). You will also see the AT&T Digital Life device name change in your AT&T Digital Life app.

- Is there a fee to use AT&T Digital Life with the Google Assistant?
- No. The service is available to all AT&T Digital Life customers with no additional cost.

- What are the security features AT&T Digital Life with the Google Assistant?
- Because your security is very important to us, the Google Assistant-enabled devices are NOT able to disarm the AT&T Digital Life system, unlock doors, or open garage doors. - The AT&T Digital Life action has only been tested and approved for Echo, Echo Dot, Echo Look, and the Echo Show.
- Can I purchase the Google Assistant device from AT&T Digital Life?
- Some of the Google Assistant devices maybe available through att.com. You will also be able to purchase these products through Google.com or other available retailers.
- What if I already have a Google Home, Home Mini, or Nest Hub?
- If you already have a Google Home, Home Mini, or Nest Hub, you do not need to purchase a new one. You can enable the AT&T Digital Life action on the existing Google Assistant device.
- Do I need to make any changes in my AT&T Digital Life app to enable the Digital Life action?
- No. You do not need to access your AT &T Digital Life app to enable the Digital Life action in the Google Assistant account.
- Is the Google Assistant available with all AT&T Digital Life Packages?
- Yes. The AT&T Digital Life action work with all packages, however some commands may require Automation package and equipment.
- ** Automation package and devices are required for certain functionality and are sold separately
- Do I need my smartphone to use the AT&T Digital Life action on the Google Assistant devices?
- No. You do not need a smartphone with you or nearby to use the AT&T Digital Life action.
- Do I need an internet connection to use the AT&T Digital Life action?
- Yes. The Google Assistant device needs to be online to use the AT&T Digital Life action.
- Can the Google Assistant device perform multiple tasks in a single session, such as "Turn off my kitchen light and Arm my system"?
- Yes. Once you have the Google Assistant open a session, you can perform multiple tasks during the same session.
- Why am I not seeing the Google Assistant device in my AT&T Digital Life app?
- The Google Assistant device will not show as a paired device in your AT&T Digital Life app and cannot be accessed through your AT&T Digital Life app. It can only be accessed and controlled via voice command through your Google Assistant device, or via the Google Assistant app.
- How do I troubleshoot my Google devices?

- The Google Assistant-enabled devices are 3rd-party devices and their support and troubleshooting will be handled by Google.
