Do you spend the winter months daydreaming about spring-cleaning your home? We do, too! When the big day arrives, don't forget to follow these steps to prepare your system for the changing of seasons.

Step 1

As it starts getting warmer outside (woohoo!), you want to make sure it doesn't stay so warm on the inside. So, give your furnace a much-needed break and make sure to update your Digital Life thermostat settings. That way your home will always be just the way you like it.

Step 2

Between the sub-zero temperatures, snow storms and freezing rain winter threw your way this year, the elements weren't too kind to your outdoor cameras. Dust the ladder off, and drag it out of the garage to give them a look-see, just to make sure they weren't damaged. It's also a good time to clean the lens so that your view isn't obstructed by leftover water residue, dirt and dust.

Step 3

You may not realize it, but your system automatically stores device and activity logs in case you need to reference an event later on for any number of reasons. But if you don't think you'll need to know when the front door was unlocked way back in November, or any other insignificant events, it may be a good idea to clear older entries and save on storage.

Step 4

When was the last time you checked the batteries in your system devices, like contact sensors or your keypad? If you haven't done it in a while or haven't done it since you had your system installed, now would be the perfect time.
